Everything You Need to Know Before We Set Sail
Planning your Nurture at Sea experience should be exciting, not complicated! We've gathered answers to the most common questions about retreat registration, cruise accommodations, educational sessions, and what to expect along the way.
Your Questions, Answered
From securing your retreat registration to preparing for our time together in Miami and at sea, here's what you need to know before joining us.
1. Is the cruise included in my retreat registration?
No. Retreat registration and cruise accommodations are purchased separately. Your retreat registration covers the professional educational experience and designated retreat activities. Cruise fares and other travel expenses are additional.
2. When and where does Nurture at Sea 2027 take place?
Our pre-cruise educational seminar is scheduled for August 20, 2027, in Miami, Florida. The seven-night Caribbean cruise aboard MSC World America departs August 21 and returns August 28, 2027.
3. What will I learn during the educational seminar?
Our seminar features sessions covering postpartum nutrition, infant sleep conditioning, and professional career development. Attendees will gain practical knowledge, industry insights, and opportunities to connect with fellow newborn care specialists and doulas.
4. Do I need to be a certified NCS or doula to attend?
No! Nurture at Sea welcomes newborn care specialists, doulas, AND nannies interested in expanding their knowledge, building meaningful connections, and exploring opportunities within the newborn and postpartum care industry.
5. What’s the focus of the retreat?
Bonding and networking. This isn’t a continuing education program. It’s a week to build real relationships with other newborn care professionals.
6. How much is retreat registration?
Early Bird is $449, Regular is $599, and VIP is $799. Early Bird registration ends January 1, 2027.
7. Can I bring my family and friends?
Yes, you’re welcome to bring them along. They won’t be able to attend any of the NCS and Doula events, so plan for them to enjoy the ship and the ports while you’re with the group.
8. How do I book my cabin?
Cabins are booked through our travel agent, Trouvaille Discoveries, as part of our group booking. You will receive information to book once you've purchased your seminar package.
9. Is there anything before we board?
No, all festivies will be held onboard the ship.
10. Do I need a passport?
We strongly recommend a valid passport since we’ll be visiting international ports. Trouvaille Discoveries can confirm exactly what documents you’ll need.
11. What if I need to cancel?
Your retreat registration and your cruise booking are separate, so each has its own cancellation terms.
For retreat registration, if you cancel 90 or more days before sailing, you’ll get a full refund minus a $50 processing fee. If you cancel 60 to 89 days before, you’ll get a 50% refund. Inside 60 days, registration is non-refundable, but you’re welcome to transfer your spot to another newborn care specialist or doula as long as you let us know in writing.
Your cruise cancellation terms are set by the cruise line and handled through our travel agent, Trouvaille Discoveries, so please check with them on deadlines and fees. We also strongly recommend travel insurance.
